Going Carbon Neutral, 2007

Going Carbon Neutral Timberland, Stratham, NH 2007

Project Statement

Installed at the Timberland Company’s headquarters. Going Carbon Neutral plays off the nostalgic childhood card game, Memory – but with an agenda. Using magnetic wooden panels, this display is an interactive, hands on game employees can play. Challenged to match illustrations of coal burning power plants or wind mills, gas guzzling SUV’s or hybrid cars, food shipped from California or locally grown produce, the yin yang of choices becomes self evident. In a fun way, this project aims to instill the idea that individuals can have positive impact through simple choices while making tangible the goal of reducing U.S. carbon 70%. A graphic key supplies research, facts and ideas about the issue.

A variation of this piece, as well as Tim Gaudreau Studios, has been featured on That’s Clever on HGTV in 2008 in 2011 & 2012.
